They Want to Deport You, Take Your Stuff, and Call It Legal

This is happening now—under Trump’s second term.

In a Federal Register notice released June 27, 2025, the Department of Homeland Security announced a new rule that gives ICE the power to seize personal property from deported immigrants—with no right to a hearing, and no Congressional oversight. (Read it here, pg. 8+)

Here’s the breakdown:

• DHS detains someone for deportation.

• A fine is issued.

• A property seizure notice is mailed—to their last known non-detention address.

• No hearing. No due process.

• If the notice goes unanswered, their property can be taken.

This isn’t hypothetical. It’s real. It’s on the books. And it is cruel by design.

This Isn’t New—It’s America on Repeat

We’ve done this before:

• Japanese Americans, 1940s: Interned, then had their homes, businesses, and bank accounts liquidated.

• Black Americans, 1865–1965+: Freed then systematically stripped of land, property, and generational wealth via eminent domain, redlining, and "urban renewal."

• First Nations, 1800s–present: Forced relocations and boarding schools. Land seized. Children stolen. Treaties broken.

• Jews under the Nazis: Their property was legally confiscated before they were deported to camps.

This current DHS rule uses the same playbook: dehumanize, disappear, and profit off the most vulnerable.
